Concept of these Station and Platforms sets.
===========================================

There are several types of platforms. Basically representing what was available in the State of New South Wales, Australia, in the 1800s through to what seen on platforms today.

Gravel .. used on the first platforms in the 1800 and some smaller country stations are still gravel surface today.

Bitumen .. not sure yet what year this started. It was introduced to stop dirt and stones being walked into passenger carriages and buildings.

	First they only laid bitumen half the width of platforms where platforms were not undercover, and full width of platforms in front of buildings.

	Some country platforms still have the half bitumen and half Gravel. Dungog is one such station.

	Larger stations in country and city eventually had bitumen full width and full length of platforms.

Concrete .. I did not make any concrete platforms as these are available in other sets such as the Dutch Station Set, the Hungaian Stations, and the Japan Set3:Stations to name a few.

Tiled .. Introduced on City Stations in the 1990s. Sydney, Australia hand some other city suburban stations have a brick tile platform surface and this is what I based my design from.

White painted safety lines along platform edges .. The white lining of platform edges originally was introduced during World War 2 so as passengers could determine the platform edge during the Blackout period. Not sure when started to use more frequent and as a safety issue, but seems like it started sometime in the late 1960s or early 1970s.
